Configuring Flow.bio as an Admin
Managing organisms
The Flow.bio database has the concept of "organisms" and "genomes". One "organism" can have many "genomes". For example, the human organism has genomes such as Ensembl GRCh38 and Ensembl GRCh37.
Only admins can add new organisms to the Flow.bio database, but any user can add custom genomes.
Organisms are an important part of sample metadata. Each sample can be assigned to an organism and this controls which genome files are allowed to be selected when running pipelines on these samples.
Adding new organisms
Navigate to the "Organisms" tab of the Admin Panel and scroll down to "Add New Organism". You will be asked to enter a two-letter organism ID, a common name and the latin name. Save when you are done.
Changing organisms
You can edit the ID, name and latin name of an organism and delete organisms.
